Hi:

I will probably avail myself of this current offer, but I do so with a bit of trepidation.

Four years ago I arranged two major
trades with Mr. Hilbrich. The first went through without a hitch, with both Mr. Hilbrich and myself satisfied with the results.

In the case of the second trade, I sent 8 VHS tapes' worth of copies from my collection with the assurance that I would receive an equal number of VHSes from Mr. Hilbrich. Weeks and then months went by and I never received my tapes. At first there were e-mailed assurances that these were "on their way", then no response--and then no website.

This was particularly painful because, prior to the second trade, I had posted a message on several newsgroups vouching for Mr. Hilbrich's integrity and ethusing over the general quality of the copies. Two people who'd done business with him contacted me afterward to complain that they'd been stiffed as well. In one case, feeling guilty, I "reiumbursed" the complainant by sending copies of the seven Columbia two-reelers that he'd purchased but never received from Mr. Hibrich--at my own expense.

Later, I regretfully posted a VERY CAREFULLY WORDED message on one newsgroup indicating my disappointment with Mr. Hilbrich.
Even this went unanswered by him, so I assumed that he'd disappeared from the face of the earth.

And now he's back--and what's very amusing is that a great deal of the historical information he has on his site was provided by me! (I hope he'll mention this when he posts his "acknowledgement" page). He also made corrections in several two-reeler cast lists based on what I had sent him.

Wellll, I very well may risk 17 dollars to see if his business practices have improved over the years. If anything goes awry this time, I will let you know (and certainly NOT hold you responsible!)

I won't put my name on this mailing because I don't want to be accused of not giving Mr. Hilbrich the benefit of the doubt. Suffice to say that I am a moderately well known author-historian with several media-related books to my credit.

I won't be "anonymous" if you keep reading.....and I'm not mad anymore, either...

Well, Greg Hilbrich and I have been in e-mail contact, and it turns out that the problems we had about that "lost" order a few years back were due to extraordinary extenuating circumstances over which he had no control. Since I also suffered some professional setbacks around the same time (from which I have since happily recovered!), I can understand why he encountered difficulty in fulfilling his arrangement with me--and now I also know why his original website disappeared (again, NOT Mr. Hilbrich's fault!)

It makes me feel a bit sheepish, even allowing for the negative feedback I received at the time. Suffice to say that I am now in full possession of the facts, and can again safely vouch for Mr. Hilbrich's integrity and sincerity.

Naturally, I intend to place an order with him immediately and I urge everyone else to do the same. Come home Greg, all is forgiven.

And though I'm posting this message as "ANONYMOUS" so you'll pay attention, I'm signing it so that Greg's friends will know who to murder.

Apologies on both sides have been extended and accepted. Welcome back, Greg Hilbrich!

I am posting a comment to second what the previous gentleman has stated. I sent Greg Hilbrich $90.00 two months ago for two sets of dvd shorts. I still have not been sent anything. He ignores most of my emails. The two times he did contact me he promises and assures me that they are being shipped, weeks go by still nothing. I have been ordering online for years all with very good results until now. Don't order anything from Greg Hilbrich unless you want to take a big risk on getting burned!!!
