As everyone knows Greg Glienna is BIG TIME HOLLYWOOD!! I've seen this so many times in Gregs unsuccessful comedy shows (First at the turn around Theater on Halsted in Boystown then at the Egyptian Theater in Hollywood). While people seemed to like his one man version it does not translate well to actual film. It is not 1920 anymore and Greg would be better put to creating some fresh (I first saw this over 15 years ago) material. Especially since he is so BIG TIME HOLLYWOOD now.
Sounds like Anonymous is jealous or something -- and since most people reading this blog enjoy comedy that is 50-100 years old, 15 years is no big deal. Excellent job, Greg. Very funny stuff. Just the other day, I ran into another modern day silent comic. Check out dizzydaniels.com I'm curious how many others are trying to do silent shorts nowadays... anybody know of any others?
Thanks guys! BIG TIME HOLLYWOOD film guy here. Glad you liked it. This is based on a mime I did in my live shows, which really seems to bother Anonymous but the short is new. It was kind of an experiment to see how it would translate to the more literal world of film. I am happy with the response and have several more planned, even though it's not 1920 anymore(?)
I don't know anyone else doing silent films but thanks for the Dizzy Daniels website, I hadn't heard of him. I did direct my friend Emo Philips in a silent short called "The Can Man" which can be found here: http://www.emophilips.com/video/
Very funny short! It's so great to see people challenging themselves to express ideas without words. Sound is no excuse to let the art of pantomime fall by the wayside. Thanks also for the previous link.
